Jardin Majorelle is an about 4000 m² botanical garden in Marrakech, Morocco. Following French painter Jacques Majorelle’s move to Morocco in 1919, which had been French since 1911, he laid out his garden in 1923. The majority of Majorelle's art has been forgotten today – with the exception of the garden he created, which has been open to the public since 1947. In 1980, the garden was purchased by French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and his partner Pierre Bergé.
