Expressive faces, the northern sky, cracks in the asphalt – the GORE-TEX® active products with SHAKEDRY™ technology were photographed by Manuel Ferrigato in the primal landscape of Scotland for the new Gore Bike Wear / Gore Running Wear campaign 2017.
In focused, unusually still photos, the campaign shows professional athletes training in moments between dedication and determination. Photographed were athletes of endurance sports road cycling and running, including exceptional runner Florian Neuschwander. Responsible for the campaign is London-based agency Fresh Britain.
Manuel captures genuine expressions of man and nature. Intimate, at times vulnerable portraits, landscapes of liberatory vastness or the intensity of sports unfold a catching power in the almost incidential moments selected in his work. In his photography Manuel plays with the elements of a given moment: The natural light, the atmosphere of a specific place and how both affect the individual in front of the camera. Each picture points beyond itself. It invites the observer to make up a story on his own. Altogether the images testify an inner attitude of humility and enthusiasm for life in all its forms. Originally from South Tyrol, Italy, Manuel is now based in Munich. His work has been published internationally in campaigns, editorials, catalogs and reportages.
