For Gore Apparel North America, Manuel Ferrigato photographed big city moments of rare silence. On a run in the pouring rain, the iconic trademarks of New York such as Central Park or the Williamsburg Bridge appear almost deserted. The production of the water-proof GORE-TEX running styles by manufacturers including Salomon, New Balance and Gore Wear focuses on the personal running experience of the athlete.
Casual styles with GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ product technology are presented during an early-morning ferry ride on the way back to Staten Island. Manuel Ferrigato captured intimate moments of big city life in the warm light of the golden hour shortly before the hustle & bustle of the workday began.
Manuel captures genuine expressions of man and nature. Intimate, at times vulnerable portraits, landscapes of liberatory vastness or the intensity of sports unfold a catching power in the almost incidential moments selected in his work. In his photography Manuel plays with the elements of a given moment: The natural light, the atmosphere of a specific place and how both affect the individual in front of the camera. Each picture points beyond itself. It invites the observer to make up a story on his own. Altogether the images testify an inner attitude of humility and enthusiasm for life in all its forms. Originally from South Tyrol, Italy, Manuel is now based in Munich. His work has been published internationally in campaigns, editorials, catalogs and reportages.
