The new issue of 'Made in Spain' Spring/Summer 2017 magazine for the shoe specialists from PEDRO GARCIA is out. The latest PEDRO GARCIA shoe magalog took photographer Daniel Riera to beautiful Catalonia. The motifs were produced by DORA JOKER, who know their way around, as commissioned by Creative Studio Clase from Barcelona. Creative responsibility was in the hands of CD Daniel Ayuso. We bring you several of the motifs here on GoSee, and more is available directly from DORA JOKER.
Pedro Garcia on his website about the shoot: "The collection was photographed in Palau de Casavells, a nineteenth century palace turned gallery, where architecture, contemporary art and design meet. From Peratallada, a storybook town of Romanesque and Gothic architecture, we came to La Bisbal, the ceramics capital of Catalonia. There we were shown around a pottery studio where vintage pots are salvaged and restored. We visited the Terracotta Museum, housed in a flawlessly converted ceramics factory, and sampled a bisbalenc, the sweet local specialty. We discovered that the life lessons of the Empordà are quickly learned; it has coached painters, sculptors and writers in the art of living well, and still has much to teach those who are willing to listen. This is the Empordà that remembers bygone traditions, where free spirits can find a home and the creative impulse flourishes. Pedro García’s Empordà." About - PEDRO GARCIA. Brother and sister Mila and Pedro García are the third generation to lead this family shoe-making firm. Mila holds the CEO post, while Pedro is the brand’s creative director. They took over the reins from their father, the current company chairman, who is also named Pedro García, as was their grandfather, who founded the firm in 1925. All the brand’s shoes are made at its own factory, located where the family firm was founded and where it remains to this day: Elda, a town with a long tradition of shoe-making, in the Mediterranean region of Alicante.
