Winona Ryder is considered by many to be the ultimate face of 90s cinema, whose career, after a dramatic fall, experienced one of the most fascinating comebacks in modern film culture. With roles in cult films like Beetlejuice, Heathers, Edward Scissorhands, and Girl, Interrupted, she personified the nonconformist, melancholic "boho chic." After a shoplifting incident in Beverly Hills, she withdrew completely from public life for a long time.
