Simon Ekrelius : ‘The Chase’ fashion film presents the A/W 2013/14 collection by the Swedish designer

The fashion film titled ‘The Chase’, which we found on our free GoSee CREATIVE LISTING, presents the new AW 13 collection by Swedish designer Simon Ekrelius. He was inspired by Patti Smith’s ‘Just Kids’ book, which takes us back to the early ‘70s when she met photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. The book tells the story of two soul mates who live for and through art.

THE CHASE...is about the chase for energy.

She's dark and moody at first, looking for opportunities.

She's searching for that special energy. While looking for herself, she becomes an animal in her hunting instincts, travelling through London at night.

Two men give her the power and she starts to become lighter.

Her eyes turn brighter and she finds more space.

The colour blue makes her thrilled.

She's dancing and dancing....

The asymmetrical cuts, contrasting textures and silhouettes make his new collection stand out. His capsule collection is sold in London, Sweden and via his website www.simonekrelius.com.

Video editor Klip Lab aka Giusy Naitana produced the film. She completed her bachelor degree in 2005 at the Netherlands Film and Television Academy. Chris Pescosta created the music, Yannis Tsakiridis was in charge of direction, Helena Ahonen was the videographer and Nickque Patterson the fashion director. Models Carmen Obied, Laurence Obied and Jim Holt posed for the camera.

Johanna Nyholm shot the campaign images with model Mary Balantyne.

About Simon Ekrelius

Simon Ekrelius was born in Stockholm, grew up both in the city and in the countryside of Sweden with his mother, who worked as a hair-stylist and his dad who painted in oil, though it was his grandmother who really inspired Simon to start drawing and sewing from a very early age.

It was in Stockholm that Simon trained in fashion design, pattern making and sewing, in the traditional tailoring school ''Tillskarar Akademin''. Before that he took classes in art-history and illustration. He graduated with a collection using plastic and moose suede, and it was voted one of the best of ten student collections in Sweden's Smirnoff International Fashion Award.

The label is synonymous with asymmetrical cuts, contrasting texture, bold silhouettes and colours. The designer works with new well thought-out ideas each season, always in line with his vision.

Simon Ekrelius has presented his collections in Paris, London and Stockholm, and the label is available in London, Stockholm and online.
