Hier zeigen wir Euch eine Arbeit die Fotograf Erik JOHANNSSON c/o AGENT MOLLY & CO schon vor Jahren fotografierte - aber einfach nicht zeigen konnte. Und hier ist seine Geschichte dazu: “In 2014, I was contacted by Pink Floyd asking if I’d be interested in creating album art for an upcoming release. I felt very honored, and I basically got total creative freedom around a certain set of words. But things took a different turn, and the artwork wasn’t used in the end at that time, but they said they would like to use it in the future. The problem was that I couldn’t show it until they would. Now, five and a half years later, I can finally share it with you!! It’s part of the album art in the collection box “The Later Years 1987 – 2019”. It was photographed in Iceland and Sweden in 2014. Originally, I also had the idea of using it upside down with the dead trees as roots.”
Pink Floyd war eine 1965 in Cambridge gegründete und bis 2015 bestehende britische Rockband. Mit ihrer Musik und der visuellen Gestaltung ihrer Platten und Bühnenauftritte schuf sie einen seinerzeit neuartigen Stil. Die Angaben über die Anzahl ihrer verkauften Tonträger schwanken zwischen 260 und 300 Millionen.[4] Pink Floyd gehört damit zu den erfolgreichsten Bands überhaupt. Das Konzeptalbum The Dark Side of the Moon (1973) ist das weltweit drittmeistverkaufte Album und das Konzeptalbum The Wall (1979) das meistverkaufte Doppelalbum.
Die neue Arbeit 'Stuck Inside' 2020 enstand in der COVID-19-Zeit: “In quarantine in my own head, lost inside with nowhere to go. A claustrophobic feeling of being stuck, while outside, time doesn’t care and keeps on moving as if nothing happened. Summer and winters come and go, they always have and always will, but here I am, stuck inside.” And about his new work ‘The Reset’, Erik says: “In these crazy times, it feels like we could use a reset button, something that could just make things go back to normal… would you press it?”
