French Image Art Director Camille Delrive works at the intersection of fashion, Art Direction and visual brand development. After spending more than three years working with luxury fashion houses including PATOU, she now works as a freelance Art Director for clients including GANNI – while also building DYNAMITE, the creative studio she co-founded with Social Media Art Director Chloé Mentières.

DYNAMITE positions itself as a counterpoint to an increasingly generated visual landscape, putting craftsmanship, the handmade and distinctive visual identities back at the heart of the creative process. The studio works with brands, creatives and entrepreneurs across Art Direction and branding, photography and film, typography and concept development. Previous projects include work for Atelier Rozier and Art Talk Management.

Camille was also active with DYNAMITE during Paris Design Week, documenting the SESSÙN Craft Prize and the SESSÙN x Atelier Rozier installation at Galerie Joseph, celebrating the savoir-faire of artists and craftspeople.

For GoSee, we introduce Camille Delrive through a selection of her work for GANNI, including the recent GANNI x Hunter project. Her portfolio also includes projects for PATOU and TOM FORD, offering an insight into her approach at the intersection of Image Art Direction, fashion and content.

You spent several years working in-house for fashion brands such as PATOU and GANNI, and have now co-founded DYNAMITE with Chloé Mentières. What made you take this step, and what kind of creative work do you want to develop with DYNAMITE?

Camille: I actually worked for just over three years with luxury fashion houses, an activity that I still pursue today as a freelancer. After immersing myself in couture ateliers, craftsmanship, savoir-faire, and working within the high standards and demands of the luxury industry, Chloé and I decided to found DYNAMITE together. We met at school, worked together extensively, and have always shared the desire to create a creative duo dedicated to craftsmanship and handmade work. We want to use our expertise in image-making to showcase and serve the savoir-faire of artisans, designers, and entrepreneurs of all kinds.

We’d love to hear a little more about your work for GANNI and, in particular, the recent GANNI x Hunter project. What was your role in developing the visual direction, and what was the idea or creative approach behind the campaign?

I’ve had the opportunity to work on various GANNI projects in Art Direction, including the latest campaign with Hunter. I was really excited to work on such a fun project. The idea from the Hunter team and GANNI’s Image Director was to represent the Danish coastline while also capturing the DNA of Copenhagen. I was involved in the different stages of the project, from image research and developing various mock-ups to experimenting with lighting and colours, so that photographer Philip Messman could bring the whole concept to life. We then worked on the campaign in post-production to refine everything and finally achieve the result you know today! Above all, it was a really great team effort.

GANNI, the Copenhagen-based fashion label led by Ditte and Nicolaj Reffstrup, has built an international following with its distinctive mix of Scandinavian style, colour and playful experimentation. The collaboration with British heritage brand Hunter brings these two worlds together – Copenhagen attitude meets an icon of British outdoor culture.
