Back to school! LISE ANNE MARSAL photographs the 1950s-inspired ‘Vintage Field Trip’ kids fashion editorial for SWEET KIDS MAGAZINE

Right on time for the rentrée – or when kids go back to school after the long summer vacation in France – Paris-based photographer LISE ANNE MARSAL photographed a fashion spread with trendy kidswear brands and the must-haves of the new season. Together with Fashion Editor Virginie Fauconnier, the class and their teacher took a field trip to the great outdoors. The editorial ‘Vintage Field Trip’, inspired by the 1950s, was created for SWEET KIDS MAGAZINE.

The 1950s was the decade of reforms and revolutions. What was happening in society is also reflected in the fashion of the time. The practical fashions from the war era gave way to self-confident, sophisticated femininity. Bust and hips were accentuated again, girdles were introduced, and colorful clothing made of artificial silk brought back a bit of style and glamour. This American influence also found its way into children’s fashion.

“As an American, who has been living in France for the last two decades, I feel that I bring a certain ‘Made in the USA’ authenticity and naturalness to my photos. If I can achieve a blend of European sophistication and American realism in them, I’m happy,” the photographer tells us.

Here on GoSee, we present you the fashion spread, and you’ll find all featured brands via SWEET KIDS MAGAZINE plus several more inspiring fashion and kidswear work directly via LISE ANNE MARSAL.

About Lise Anne Marsal

LISE ANNE MARSAL started in this business as a hair and makeup artist 20 years ago. It's a world I love and understand, even though it is sometimes crazy and superficial. I started photography late in my career, simply with my children, their cousins and friends in my home state of Massachusetts and on vacation in Maine. I love photographing children and adolescents-their expressions, their offhand style, their innocence and spontaneity. As an American, who has been living in France for the last two decades, I feel I bring a certain "Made in the USA" authenticity and naturalness to my photos. If I can achieve a blend of European sophistication and American realism in them, I'm happy.
