For the August 2025 issue of Vogue Mexico, Anne Menke c/o KRISTINA KORB shot a vibrant beach editorial featuring Brazilian model Daiane Sodré alongside a group of companions including Allan Urbano, Anton Lanceford Robinson, Effy Betancourt, Jacques Ackermann, and Keony Kay.
Captured through Anne’s lens, the series unfolds in scenes filled with lightness, sunshine, and surf — set against the breathtaking backdrop of Punta Mita. Wrapped in a light and natural energy—between soft sweaters, sporty apparel, colorful swimsuits, and, of course, good sandals—the editorial feels carefree, joyful, and infused with the effortless spirit that only the sea can bring. It transports us to a world without rules, where the mood is light, August fades away, September arrives, and the memory of those southern summers continues to glow—so says VOGUE MEXICO. Styling was done by Valentina Collado, with Octavio Leon and Mariana Barcón in charge of hair and makeup.
Punta Mita, a stunning peninsula on Mexico’s Pacific coast in the state of Nayarit, was once home to the indigenous Huichol (Wixárika) people — known for their deep spiritual traditions and profound connection to nature.
Before it became a luxurious travel destination, the area thrived on sustainable fishing. Local families ventured out daily in small wooden boats, catching snapper, tuna, and more — a way of life that remained largely unchanged for decades.
In recent years, the Mexican government has invested heavily in developing the region, turning Punta Mita into an exclusive hotspot for international tourism — while still preserving traces of its original spirit, which can be felt in Anne Menke’s evocative imagery. Anne Menke is an internationally acclaimed photographer known for her vibrant fashion and travel editorials, which she captures around the globe for renowned publications such as Vogue, Elle, and Travel + Leisure.
