At the beginning of the year Restaurant GÜL opened in Zurich. The young restaurateurs want to celebrate with their project above all the ritual of eating together and the different cultures which are united in Turkish cuisine. Art Director NONDA COUTSICOS c/o VISUALEYES ARTISTS was in charge of the complete branding : 'The name Gül (Turkish) is derived from 'rose' but also from 'laughing' in second person imperative. Ü as a central component in Gül and as a typical Turkish letter, is playfully applied on social media, merchandise and other occasions. The logo blends latin letters with famous Arab calligraphy.'
