For the cover story of the 40th issue of Le Mile Magazine, Pascal Schonlau photographed Greek singer Tamta. Under the headline “Tamta expands the Grammar of Greek Pop,” the story appears in an issue dedicated to Identity – a theme Schonlau explores through a striking mix of portrait photography, CGI and body scanning.
Tamta appears at times in classic portraiture, at others as a digitally transformed sculpture or in dialogue with her own virtual doubles. Ahead of the London shoot, Pascal Schonlau developed lighting concepts and initial CGI previsualisations. Tamta was also scanned on set, with CGI and post-production handled by Recom Farmhouse.
In keeping with the visual concept, Tamta describes identity as something in constant motion: “I am performing against staticness. My work lives in movement, change, and constant reinvention.” Reflecting on her own evolution, she adds: “It’s not about creating a new character as much as revealing more layers of myself.”
