Vetements Group AG is a fashion company with headquarters in Zurich. It was founded in 2014 in Paris by Georgian-German brothers Demna and Guram Gvasalia. VETEMENTS designs clothes that are wearable everyday and became known for designing eccentric avant-garde fashion in the upper price segment.
Demna Gvasalia (* 1981) moved from Georgia to Düsseldorf with his family in 2000 where he studied under Walter Van Beirendonck at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp from 2002 and graduated with a degree in Fashion Design in 2006. Afterwards, he worked as a womenswear designer at Maison Martin Margiela from 2009 to 2012 and subsequently in the area of womenswear at Louis Vuitton under Marc Jacobs and still briefly under his successor Nicolas Ghesquière until 2014. In 2015, Gvasalia became the successor to Alexander Wang as Artistic Director at Balenciaga. Dissatisfied with the fashion world in general, Demma Gvasalia founded the design collective VETEMENTS in Paris in 2014 with six other designer colleagues from Antwerp, who chose to remain anonymous. He left the design collective again in 2019 of his own accord.
Among the principles of the design collective is the renouncement of gender segregation, which is why female and male Vetements models appear in the same fashion shows. We present you the beautiful Sarah BATT c/o VIVA MODELS here in the VETEMENTS F/W 2021 collection. The motifs were photographed by Gio Staiano. GoSee : vetementswebsite.com
