For the first time, Acne Studios has introduced denim personalization. Denim has always played a significant role, spanning back to 1996 when creative director Jonny Johansson launched the brand by gifting 100 pairs of jeans to artists, creatives, and friends of the house.
In this latest iteration, iconic denim styles are now available which can be customized with symbols, letters and numbers specially created by Acne Studios. To launch the denim personalization, Acne Studios collaborated with photographer Thistle Brown on campaign images that draw inspiration from the spirit of the 1970s and bodypainting. On set for the look of the hair was the internationally renowned hair specialist Olivier SCHAWALDER c/o LES ARTISTS by Josef Stockinger.
Together with artist and model Lily McMenamy, the letters, numbers, and symbols capture the creative energy of the designs. The denim personalization service is offered in the wash colorways of the classic vintage jeans models Mece, 2022, 1996 and 2021M classic and Morris’s jacket. A curation of designed letters, numbers and symbols are available in six thread colors ranging from Acne Pink to Red, Green, Cathay spice plus black and white.
Each personalization choice can consist of four characters, three letters or numbers and one symbol. On the jeans, the placement sits on the waist back, hip and leg, and for the jacket, placement sits on the placket, chest, and center back.
The collection of symbols was chosen to represent love, positivity, and inclusivity – the sun, the peace sign, yin-yang, a mushroom, four-leaf clover, rainbow, heart, kiss, male, and female – and are all playful takes.
The campaign was launched with out-of-home advertising in New York, London, Milan, and Melbourne. A limited edition run of 60 pieces mirroring the oversized symbols featured in the campaign will also be available at the following stores: Norrmalmstorg, Stockholm, rue Saint Honoré Paris, Dover Street, London, Greene Street in New York, Piazza del Carmine Milan, Little Bourke Street, Melbourne and on acnestudios.com.
Access to the full denim personalization offering will be available in all Acne Studios stores worldwide and on acnestudios.com.

Ingrid and Erich Asam founded the cosmetics company steeped in tradition ASAM in 1963. From the very beginning, recipes were developed and produced in the laboratories. Since the 1960s, the company has continued to develop and sell cosmetic and skincare products – and until 2017, exclusively via teleshopping and the company’s online shop.
The motifs presented here were photographed by Carina Jahn. At her side was hair & makeup artist Kevin BETE c/o LES ARTISTS by Josef Stockinger.
At the headquarters in Munich, new recipes are created every day, while extensive and essential quality control measures are conducted and scientific evidence is documented for the efficacy of the key active ingredients.
From Spain to Bulgaria, from Jordania to Kuweit, to the US, Canada or even Russia, China, Japan and Australia: With Germany, the cosmetic products from Asambeauty are already sold in 26 countries.
Marcus Asam is the CEO and General Manager of Asambeauty GmbH, headquartered in Unterföhring near Munich. In 2002, the Master of Business Administration founded the company together with his wife and integrated the production company founded by his parents in the 1960s.
