Maik FLÖDER c/o DOUBLE T was on set of the film shoot over the course of several weeks for the new ZDF series ‘Hotel Mondial’, where he shot photos on location to make the ZDK media library a bit more beautiful.
Serving as the film setting for the Hotel Mondial is the building of the Kücken foundation in Schwerin. The Hotel Mondial spotlights everyday stories amid the hustle and bustle of a four-star hotel business. The outdoor shots for the first season were photographed in summer 2022 in Schwerin, and the studio scenes were shot in a shut-down carpet factory in Geesthacht (Schleswig-Holstein).
The production company Neue Deutsche Filmgesellschaft which was commissioned by ZDF refers to Hotel Mondial as a workplace ensemble series. The creatives behind the series are Markus Stromiedel and Johannes Pollmann, and responsible for development of the book as head author of the first season alongside Markus Stromiedel was also Roger Schmelzer.
Appearing in the lead role of the feel-good series is actress Gesine Cukrowski who plays the hotel manager. And making an admirable appearance as an apprentice and spirited barkeeper is Louis Held, the son of our GoSee Friend, Berlin-based photographer and proud mother Edith Held. Younger viewers will surely still remember him from ‘Bibi & Tina’.
