‘For Cats Only’ – a close look transforms even the most ordinary things into fascinating objects full of idiosyncrasies and magic. With tongue-in-cheek charm, photographer Pascale Weber demonstrates this with a very special object: the cat tree. Photographed as a still life against a colored background, we not only see the multifaceted architectural capers of this extraordinary type of structure, she also depicts them with their four-footed owners proudly presenting their homes.
The aesthetic studio images captured on one of the favorite places of cats are marked by a particularly subtle humor. We suddenly wonder how this unique variety of designs could have been overlooked until now. And everyone may perhaps ask themselves with a grin, where they would prefer to live,” is how HATJE CANTZ introduces the new book.
And Pascale tells GoSee : “I am so pleased and excited that my first book ‘For Cats Only’ has been published. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all cat owners, their cats, my friends, Nadine Barth, Studio Michael Satter, Marcel Rickli, and Hatje Cantz, who have all made this book possible. The book is available at Exlibris.”
