The campaign shown here was created as part of the #RideTheAirwaves challenge in collaboration with the musician Zartmann. Fans could submit their own application videos, and the winners were then photographed for the official German poster campaign.
The campaign images were post-produced by the professionals at Hamburg's renownded Retouched-Studios.
Here's how the challenge worked: #RideTheAirwaves – participants were asked to share their personal "Wooosh" moment (the ultimate menthol kick while chewing) as a clip on TikTok or Instagram under the motto "Ride the wave with us." The two most creative content creators won a photoshoot with photographer Felix Krüger and became the official faces of the Airwaves campaign 2026.
Zartmann is an up-and-coming Berlin musician, primarily known for his mix of indie pop and rap. His style is often described as "Berlin indie rap" because he combines street influences with melancholic lyrics and vocals. Since his song "Tau mich auf" (Thaw Me Out), which reached the top of the German charts in early 2025, his name has been synonymous with the industry.
Airwaves is a sugar-free chewing gum from the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, primarily distributed in Europe and East Asia. The brand is advertised for its intense flavor, reminiscent of cough drops (also from Wrigley).
Airwaves is now a brand of the American food company Mars Incorporated. Mars acquired the Wrigley Company (the original creators of Airwaves) in 2008 for approximately $23 billion.
