Photographer and director David DAUB created the visual campaign for the new Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo Concept Car in Shanghai. With a cinematic visual language, he translates the vehicle’s futuristic design into a dynamic campaign positioned between high-end automotive and digital vision.
At the core is a radically aerodynamic concept: “Sculpted by the wind, every line is designed for aerodynamic perfection. Experience the future of driving.” - an approach that David Daub consistently brings to life together with Creative Director Yimeng Bai. Flowing light edges, precisely crafted reflections and an almost sculptural staging turn the car into an object from the future.
The Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo was developed in collaboration with the gaming platform Gran Turismo and marks a key milestone in Xiaomi’s still young automotive division. With this showcar, the company defines its own design language for future vehicles – globally oriented, technology-driven and strongly influenced by performance aesthetics.
Fabian Schmölz, Head of Exterior Design Xiaomi EV Europe, highlights the significance of the project: “From zero to Xiaomi’s first showcar! Less than a year and we are presenting Xiaomi’s first showcar – first Vision GT, our first project from Munich Design Studio. A young Munich team delivering at this level under real pressure, protecting the core idea until the very last stage and collaborating globally from day one. From Munich to Shanghai, this project proves what is possible when creative conviction meets global alignment. This showcar signals the beginning of Xiaomi’s automotive design language on a global stage. ‘Shaped by the wind’.”
With this campaign, David Daub successfully translates that ambition into images – establishing a new visual language for a brand set on actively shaping the future of mobility.
