Photographer Robert Rieger c/o EMEIS DEUBEL portrays interior stylist and designer Colin King for Chapter Magazine. At the centre of the story 'Colin King – The Art of Arranging' is King’s design philosophy, defined by a refined balance of form, material and space - a distinctive approach that extends far beyond editorial work.
Together with furniture brand West Elm, Colin King has developed a collection of objects whose seamless fusion of materiality and silhouette creates a timeless interior language. Known for designs that elegantly combine aesthetics, quality and everyday functionality, West Elm now presents the first collection from this collaboration, marking the beginning of a long-term partnership. “I’ve been working closely with West Elm for more than four years, completing over a dozen shoots across the US - from Sea Ranch to Miami to Tucson. Developing a product line felt like the natural next step of this ongoing collaboration behind the scenes. We wanted to share our creative synergy with the world,” says King.
In its latest issue, Chapter Magazine explores the notion of identity in design. Identity reveals itself in details, contrasts and the stories we project onto objects and spaces - a thematic framework that brings together Colin King’s work and Robert Rieger’s sensitive portrait in a compelling and coherent way.
