Dance about it, dance about it… Herbert Grönemeyer has just released a further song from his forthcoming album ‘Das ist los’, or ‘That’s What’s Going On’, the single ‘Angstfrei’ or ‘Without Fear’. The video for the song is thanks to Harun GÜLER c/o WILDFOX RUNNING.
‘Angstfrei’ is a hymn about the times we are living in, marked by wars, geopolitical tensions, earthquakes, revolutions, … not to mention climate change. Herbert encourages us to not close our eyes to these challenges: “If we accept our fears for what they are, we can free ourselves from them.” Herbert Grönemeyer.
‘Das ist los’ is the title of the new album released on 24 March. Advance releases from it included the songs ‘Deine Hand’ and ‘Urverlust’. And the meanwhile 16th studio album by Herbert Grönemeyer was produced by Alex Silva – just like all of Grönemeyer’s music since ‘Bleibt alles anders’ from 1998. The singer has, of course, planned a tour with the new material.

Lyrics (translated):
If you don’t pedal
Get stuck at the traffic light
Waiting for green
The severity of the situation
Is unquestionable
We have to get this done
We're not going to get rid of us
We’re aware and ready
In a space of confidence
Freedom
A new time
Above all without fear
Restlessness gives us strength
Being smart
Being cheeky
No one can break us down
Dance about it, dance about it
Hard is the will
No rose-tinted glasses
Fate demands so much, demands so much
No laughing matter
The severity of it
It’s not child’s play, not child’s play
But an urgent question
How do we get out of the spot we are in
Time to attack
Freedom
A new time
Above all, without fear
Restlessness gives us strength
Being smart
Being cheeky
No one is going to make themselves small
Dance about it, dance about it
Stay vulnerable
Irreplaceable
Chest out
Find the truth
And connect
With genuine lust for life
Expose lies
With pleasure
Stop complaining
Stand here, here, here
Freedom
A new time
Above all, without fear
Restlessness gives us strength
Being smart
Being cheeky
No one can break us down now
Dance about it, dance about it
Sometimes the hardest path in life
is twisted only to find its way
Dance about it, dance about it
To be smart
To be cheeky
No one’s gonna make themselves small
Dance about it, dance about it
