Wind energy is far more than just impressive technology. Behind every turbine are passionate, precise people working in an extraordinary environment – often hundreds of meters above the ground.
For Deutsche Windtechnik, Dominik Obertreis accompanied service teams to places few people ever go: up into the nacelles of enormous wind turbines, along narrow ladders, and at dizzying heights – camera in hand, always right in the thick of things. The reports are complemented by spectacular drone footage that reveals the sheer scale of the turbines as well as their integration into the landscape.
But as impressive as the technology is, the focus is on the people. Obertreis portrays the employees where they take on responsibility every day: inside the towers, in the nacelles, on the platforms amidst steel, cables, and rotor blades. The result is a collection of authentic portraits that capture the competence, team spirit, and unique fascination of this profession.
The result is a series of breathtaking images – sometimes from the air, sometimes from the heart of a wind turbine, always with great respect for the people and their work.
Deutsche Windtechnik AG is a leading, manufacturer-independent service provider for the technical maintenance of wind turbines, headquartered in Bremen, Germany. The company supports both onshore and offshore wind farms in Europe, North America, and Taiwan.
