For VOGUE Spain and VOGUE Germany, Chloë Sevigny stepped in front of the camera - style icon, actress and one of the defining figures of the 1990s independent film scene. The elaborate double feature was produced by Tightrope Production, who executed the entire shoot in Culver City, California.
In the accompanying interview, Chloë Sevigny speaks candidly about feeling misunderstood at times throughout her career - and about her determination to follow her own artistic path regardless. Since her breakthrough in the indie classic “Kids”, in which she took on the female lead without prior acting experience, Sevigny has been a constant in both the fashion world and arthouse cinema. Her face became emblematic of New York’s underground and skate-kid culture of the 1990s.
For the cover shoot, photographer Michael Bailey-Gates brought Sevigny together with friends and models, creating a visual narrative that blends intimacy with fashion history.
Sevigny, who turned 50 last year, lives in New York with her husband, gallerist Siniša Mačković, and their five-year-old son. With more than 80 film and television roles to her name, she has remained true to her distinct artistic identity: staying clear of Hollywood mainstream and gravitating toward independent productions and character-driven underdog stories. In her latest film, “After the Hunt,” she stars alongside Julia Roberts.
The shoot was produced by Tightrope Production, once again demonstrating their expertise in high-end fashion and editorial work. With precise set design, seamless logistics and an internationally coordinated team, TRP created the ideal framework for one of VOGUE’s standout stories of the season.
