For the photo shoot in SPIEGEL magazine's coaching special, Alexandra Polina not only provided the photographs but was also responsible for the visual concept of the topics presented. The coaching special focuses on personal development, psychology, and lifestyle.
The subjects of the shoot for the current issue included Germany's oldest taxi driver, Ingrid Seele. At 88 years old, she still runs her own taxi company with seven employees. She has been self-employed for almost 60 years and shows no signs of slowing down.
Alexandra also photographed Karl Schultz, the "Kiezpfarrer" (neighborhood priest), a Catholic priest who has led the St. Joseph parish on Große Freiheit in Hamburg's St. Pauli district since 2010. Because of his presence on the Reeperbahn, he is often affectionately referred to as the "Kiezpfarrer" or "Kiez-Pastor."
And Alexandra also conceptually translated the rather abstract theme of "approaching through writing" into a clear and compelling design for the magazine.
SPIEGEL Coaching has been published as a high-quality annual magazine (“bookazine”) since 2019 and aims to support its readers in making changes in their daily lives through concrete, step-by-step instructions.
Alexandra Polina's visual style is characterized by a strong conceptual, clear, and color-intensive approach. She regularly works for major German publications such as DER SPIEGEL, ZEITmagazin, and Psychologie Heute.
Alexandra Polina is represented by the Hamburg-based agency JULIA WALDMANN.
