The Canadian company Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. is one of the world's largest operators of convenience stores. It operates around 14,400 sales outlets in 24 countries on various continents, around half of which are owned and half franchised. In addition to CIRCLE K, the following brands belong to the group: Couche-Tard, Mac's, On the Run, 7-jours, Dairy Mart, Daisy Mart and Winks.
Many sales outlets are operated as filling stations. Petrol is sold under the Irving Oil and Shell brands, among others. The approximately 2,800 sales outlets in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe are gradually being renamed Circle K. The headquarters of Alimentation Couche-Tard are located in Laval, Quebec, Canada.
