Zur Info: Während kleinere Garnelen im Englischen meist Shrimps heißen, bezeichnet man die größeren, saftig-fleischigen Exemplare (wie z. B. Black Tiger Garnelen) als Prawns. Sie haben ein festes Fleisch und einen feinen, leicht süßlichen Geschmack.
Im britischen Englisch, in Australien und Neuseeland wird das Wort prawn generell für fast alle Garnelenarten genutzt. In den USA hingegen wird unabhängig von der Größe meist das Wort shrimp verwendet.
