Minimalism For A New Generation - Gleb Melenberg photographs stills for 'Rouge Bunny Rouge'

Rouge Bunny Rouge, founded by designer Alexandra de Montfort in 2005, combines opulent aesthetics with modern technology and is known for both high-quality cosmetics and artful perfumes. Before launching her own cosmetics line, Alexandra worked for renowned fashion houses such as Yohji Yamamoto and Max Mara.

The images shown here were photographed by still life specialist Gleb Melenberg for the Rouge Bunny Rouge label.

The name and the entire brand concept are based on a fictional, Victorian fairytale world: The product range revolves around a fictional, magical garden, a princess, and a red rabbit. The name is also reflected in the brand's mascot. The central symbol of Rouge Bunny Rouge is the rabbit sculpture "Idol" by Finnish avant-garde artist Kim Simonsson, which appears on all packaging and represents sensuality, rebirth, and infinity.

Alexandra de Montfort, who grew up in the former Yugoslavia, was born in Osijek, a city in present-day Croatia. She now holds British citizenship. The name "de Montfort" comes from her Belgian husband's family.

"I am more of a woman without a town than a woman about a town. I grew up in a country that no longer exists, Yugoslavia. This fact has an inherent nostalgia and wistfulness that I weave into my work. Exposure to the countryside, sea, and mountains from early childhood created a lifelong connection with nature and its changes, which is reflected in our Rouge Bunny Rouge beauty and fragrances. My life's travels have taken me from Osijek, where I was born, to Belgrade, where I studied, to London, Warsaw, Brussels, New York, and Milan..." we quote Alexandra de Montfort from her interview on cafleurebon.com.

The complete and relaunched make-up collection (including the Iconic Lip Cream Colour lipstick) as well as the fragrance range can be ordered on their official website.
