“Hidden in the mountains of the Taunggyi District of Shan State, Myanmar, (aka Burma) in South East Asia, lies the second-largest lake of the country at an altitude of 880 meters above sea level. Local fishermen of Inle Lake are known for a distinctive rowing technique: standing on one leg at the stern while wrapping the other leg around the oar. This unique style was born of necessity as the lake is covered by reeds and floating plants, making it difficult to see above them when seated.
