The Gesellschaft für Dienste im Alter (GDA) operates senior residences and nursing homes in Germany. It runs numerous assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home care services in Hesse, Lower Saxony, and Rhineland-Palatinate, among other regions. Around 2,600 seniors currently live in these facilities, cared for by approximately 1,400 employees.
Photographer Martin Bühler created the images for Gesellschaft für Dienste im Alter mbH (GDA) on behalf of the agency Die Vision, Hanover.
The authentic photographs were taken as part of a comprehensive campaign and website relaunch for GDA's employer branding. The goal was to capture real employees and residents in their everyday lives, rather than relying on generic stock photos.
"People may require assistance and care at various stages of life. We support them with respect and dignity. Therefore, our guiding principles for support and care emphasize that, in our understanding, care is not limited to the basic provision of physical needs. A key focus of our work is the individualized support of the people living with us in their daily lives," states the GDA's philosophy.
The GDA, founded in 1971, is sponsored by the Paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband (Parity Welfare Association). As the GDA is organized as a non-profit limited liability company (gGmbH), all profits generated are reinvested in modernizing the facilities and improving the care services.
Martin Bühler is represented by the agency HAUSER FOTOGRAFEN. Hauser Fotografen is headquartered in Frankfurt am Main and was founded there in 2008 by Veronika Hauser. From there, she manages the productions and the work of her photographers.
