Whilst viewers were counting the remaining days backwards until the German premier league football season start, Christian KAUFMANN’s photos for the FC BAYERN autograph cards and yearbook were already retouched and ready in the right format. Indeed, everything was raring to go for the season’s kick off.

A shoot with the FCB basketball players followed this. Christian had to either get up on a ladder or strain his neck and keep looking up. At an average height of 2.01m, he was glad to meet one player who was under 1.90m. Following the shoot with the football and basketball players, he had another full hard drive.

He also had the pleasure of photographing London singer and songwriter Jonathan JEREMIAH. First at his concert in Nürnberg and then in Berlin whilst he was busy penning his new record, which is in stores now.

Christian tells us ‘the music is as cool as the guy himself. And it was great to develop negatives again, like a journey back in time – not knowing what you have captured on camera, the excitement of the development process was particularly big!’

Quite a while earlier he photographed the five German hopefuls for the Olympic cycling games for TOUR magazine.

Judith Arndt may have ‘only’ come second at the Olympics, (as did an injured Tony Martin), but shortly afterwards she cycled her way into first place in the world championship.

And Roger Kluge just missed the third place, whilst Maximilian Levy secured a cool Bronze and Silver at the Olympics.
