DIE ZEIT is celebrating its 77th birthday this year and published an anniversary edition with 77 selected texts from over 77 years – including an article on tennis legend Steffi Graf. The strong black & white portraits were photographed by TIM PETERSEN.
The anniversary project in print media and online brings back memories of monumental events and important debates with its 77 original articles, but also the atmosphere of the individual time periods. Design and photography of the special edition also tap into the event world and awareness of life of these epochs. “The way we were. The way we wanted to be. The way we turned out, who we are.” – this central idea refers not only to the development of TIME but also to the history of the German Federal Republic.
