The exhibition may be over, but BURN stays with us. Jan Kuck’s neon installation provides the perfect transition into the Berlin art summer – and a great reason to put Galerie Burster and its programme firmly on the GoSee radar.

Founded by Rita Burster in 2014, Galerie Burster represents emerging national and international positions in contemporary art. Painting meets installation, photography, sculpture, performance and digital media. Alongside its Berlin space on Markgrafenstraße, the gallery has operated a second exhibition space in Karlsruhe since 2018 and regularly participates in international fairs including ART DÜSSELDORF, SPARK ART FAIR VIENNA and NADA New York.

Currently, Galerie Burster continues into summer with its group exhibition HEAT. For us, it is also the perfect moment to look back at the recently concluded guest exhibition always reach beyond the light. Created in close cooperation with Bernheimer Contemporary, the show presented works by Jan Kuck, an artist GoSee has been connected with for many years.

Kuck’s work moves between light, language, material and perception. His pieces are often immediate and aesthetically seductive, only to reveal another layer upon closer inspection. The exhibition title always reach beyond the light already plays with this idea: What do we see, what do we think we see – and what lies beyond the immediately visible?

And the title itself hasn’t disappeared just yet: until 26 August 2026, always reach beyond the light can still be seen as a monumental, ten-metre-long neon work on the façade of Galerie Burster at Markgrafenstraße 68 in Berlin.

And then there is BURN. A single word rendered in neon. Light, energy, invitation and warning all at once. The exhibition itself has ended, but this is one work we are more than happy to carry with us into August: BURN – a title that currently feels almost like a comment on summer itself.

For GoSee, this retrospective glance is also a discovery looking forward: Galerie Burster brings together different media and a new generation of artistic positions in a programme that is definitely staying on our radar.
