Perfume bottles as characters: For the fragrance editorial "AURA" in *Esquire Germany*, photographer and director Maciek Miloch employs light, movement, and deliberate optical distortions. Moving away from traditional, flawlessly sharp product stills, he creates images in which glass, color, reflection, and motion blur translate the distinct personalities of the fragrances.
"I had a lot of fun shooting this series, playing with movement and distortions, and letting the shape and character of each bottle lead the way," says Maciek Miloch of the project.
The editorial features fragrances from brands including Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, and Giorgio Armani—rendered in ways that range from warm and glowing to graphically minimalist or abstract. The shapes of the bottles themselves serve as the starting point for each visual concept. Retouching was handled by Bitmap Berlin.
Maciek Miloch lives and works in Berlin, specializing in still life, food, and product photography, as well as film.
He is represented by the agency STILLSTARS, based in Munich.
