Fast cars can be photographed in spectacular ways. Things get more interesting when performance is joined by personality. For Porsche, photographer Anke Luckmann teamed up with Formula E champion Pascal Wehrlein – and the Porsche Macan GTS.
Steep mountain roads, fast corners and a protagonist who knows a thing or two about speed: the production combines classic automotive expertise with a relaxed celebrity moment. Anke Luckmann finds just the right balance between controlled staging and authenticity – the Macan GTS remains the hero without reducing the person beside it to a mere prop.
Pascal Wehrlein has been among the international elite of motorsport for years and has close ties to Porsche. “We met Formula E World Champion Pascal Wehrlein, who had the chance to really put the car through its paces. It was already my third shoot with him. Great person.”
It is precisely this combination of automotive, lifestyle and people that is one of Anke Luckmann’s strengths. Her images thrive on movement and her instinct for the right moment, without ever becoming overly technical. Whether on winding mountain roads, in urban settings or in a direct portrait, she gives cars room to shine and people personality. A visual signature that becomes particularly interesting when automotive communication aims to tell more than a story of horsepower, design and perfect roads.
The Porsche Macan GTS – an all-electric SUV – is the first of a total of five models. The shoot was produced by Wide Production, with Daniela Witting as producer. Post production was handled by TREY, styling by Jacqueline Ziesmer, creative by Marcus Heyke-Kubicke, service production by Jon Peñagarikano, and precision driving by Uwe Mannshardt.
And there’s more to come: moving images featuring Pascal Wehrlein and the Porsche Macan GTS were created alongside the shoot. We’ll be showing them soon on GoSee.
