WEEKDAY stands for international fashion influenced by Scandinavian style. No wonder the new WEEKDAY JEANS campaign was staged with classic Scandinavian flair. For the new Spring/Summer collection, Miriam Haney & Roberto Sipos stood in front of the camera of Johan Sandberg c/o LUNDLUND. Mette Thorsgaard and Karin Westerlund were in charge of the look of the two young models.
Denim and lots of color are the focus of the collection, which has been in stores since February, one of the many highlights of which is the unisex denim cut titled 'SEX' – designed both for women and men. “The S/S 2016 Weekday Jeans collection is made up of versatile and dynamic pieces that each wearer makes their own. It’s a collection that enhances personal style,” Louise Lasson, Creative Director at WEEKDAY, describes the collection. Since its launch 2002 in Stockholm, Weekday has never stopped expanding with stores throughout Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Austria. Further works by Johan Sandberg can be seen on GoSee and are available directly from LUNDLUND.
The Fall/Winter 2016 collection from AALTO was photographed by Johan SANDBERG, which he staged in richly contrasted, wintry outdoor motifs. The Finnish designer brand was founded by Tuomas Merikoski in Paris and is named after the Finnish word for wave. The concept : “AALTO has a new approach to the feminine wardrobe, playing with masculine details, proportions, comfort and elegance with a strong fashion aesthetic. AALTO’s inspiration comes from exploring the diversity of modern Finnish culture by reinterpreting its traditional DNA, and its blend of harmonious contrasts.”
The new NMD lifestyle sneakers from ADIDAS were staged by photographer Frida MARKLUND and stylist Columbine Smille for SPACE MATTERS. Posing in front of the camera was lovely London model Leila Ofokansi.
Carin Rodebjer, Creative Director and founder of the Swedish label, commissioned Liselotte WATKINS to realize a collage print for the RODEBJER S/S 2016 collection.
The label on the cooperation: “Carin Rodebjer was also inspired by Liselotte Watkins and Watkins’ refined yet unpretentious world of aesthetics. The result of the collaboration – a striking, abstract color block print made from paper cut-outs transferred to luxe washed silk – is a key component in the Rodebjer S/S 2016 collection. The original collage print uses a cut-out technique, where Watkins uses papers of rich and intense pigments that she cuts and layers to create richly patterned, modernistic collages. The technique is partly inspired by the iconic Cut-Outs by Matisse and also the works of iconic artists Sonia Delaunay, Carla Accardi and Wilhelm Wik.”
When Liselotte Watkins showed me her new work of paper cut-outs, I was once again immediately captivated by Liselotte’s unique eye for refined yet unpretentious aesthetics. I immediately wanted to translate the paper cut-outs into statement prints for the S/S 2016 collection. I love how the cut-out shapes are strong and soft at the same time and how they echo the techniques and aesthetic tradition of Matisse, Sonia Delaunay and Carla Accardi. I also love how the bold yet tactile shapes, printed on a delicate sand-washed silk fabric, drapes and falls on the body,” Creative Director Carin Rodebjer explains.
Liselotte Watkins lives and works in Rome and Milan. Her works have for years been showcased in magazines such as VOGUE, ELLE, La Republica, or L’Official Italia. Miu Prada was also quite impressed by Liselotte's works and used her illustrations for the Miu Miu S/S 2008 collection.
